Master Class in Neoliberalism
With Troy Vettese and Niklas Olsen.
Center for Applied Ecological Thinking (Copenhagen).
This master class brings together advanced master students, PhD-researchers and post-docs interested in neoliberalism studies. The aim is to discuss individual research projects and key themes related to the field. Neoliberalism studies has blossomed over the past two decades, with scholars hailing from many different disciplines contributing to our understanding of neoliberalism as a form of political economy, everyday life, and ideological Weltanschauung. Influential works by Philip Mirowski, Melinda Cooper, Quinn Slobodian, Dieter Plehwe, Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval, Grégoire Chamayou, Werner Bonefeld, and many others have shaped both the remit and method of neoliberalism studies. Despite this progress, much scholarly work remains to be done, in particular on environmental issues.
We are thus especially interested in scholarship on neoliberal endeavors related to cap-and-trade, geoengineering, factory farming, mining, endangered species, block-chain, environmental concepts such as green growth, and other green topics (but this is not a necessity to participate in the workshop).
